Lynn Fortin

A professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), Lynn applies her proofreading and copyediting expertise to all Cambridge Mathematics’ publications, ensuring they have a high standard of accuracy and academic rigour.

In her former career as a director-level PA, Lynn worked in Canada and the UK for private companies and in the public sector. Throughout this time, and especially since she joined Cambridge Assessment in 2015, she developed her natural aptitude for copyediting and proofreading, which became increasingly important as she progressed through a variety of roles. Once she had completed her degree in Humanities with Literature through the Open University in 2016, she started her formal training in copyediting and proofreading with the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), now the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).

Lynn has been in her current role with Cambridge Mathematics since August 2023, having originally joined them in October 2016 as PA to the director and administrator. She considers her role as their proofreader to be the culmination of her career.
