I taught at a first school in Suffolk for two years before moving to Cambridge Assessment, where I initially worked on developing the underlying maths framework for a formative assessment product and also writing and editing maths questions for it. After that I worked on university admissions testing for a few years, and was responsible for the STEP Mathematics entrance exam. For the past 10 years I have worked as a researcher for Cambridge Assessment, specialising in the comparability of examinations and comparing qualifications and education systems across different jurisdictions. I am currently on secondment to Cambridge Mathematics, where I am working on the ‘number’ strand of the Cambridge Mathematics Framework.
