Teacher support materials

The teacher support materials below contain ideas for development in your classroom that could complement your use of Minecraft Education’s Ratio Riddles game.

We recommend having a range of practical resources on hand to support student’s thinking as they explore the ideas; e.g. plain paper or mini whiteboards, dice, stopwatches or timers, and bar model manipulatives.

Informal descriptive language will be an important part of your classroom discussions about the concepts, and educational research recommends that students should describe their thinking using language they are comfortable with, before progressing to more formal language over time. So, please read and adapt these ideas as best suits your students and your setting, knowing that they are intended as suggestions for exploration rather than a roadmap
